NCIAVHR Briefs the European Group in Geneva of its 11th Report

The Chairman and members of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) briefed ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions in the European Group in Geneva on the latest developments in human rights in Yemen.

During the extended meeting, the Chairman of the Commission, Judge Ahmed Saeed Al-Muflehi, reviewed the Commission’s work during the period covered by the eleventh report, as well as the findings of its field visits to prisons, detention centers, and sites of violations in all Yemeni governorates.

Members of the Commission also discussed the challenges faced by the Commission during that period, and its general and specific recommendations for all parties to the conflict in Yemen, emphasizing the importance of implementing them to reduce violations and hold those involved accountable.

Representatives of diplomatic missions from the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Austria, Finland, Ireland, Romania, Belgium, and the European Union praised the Commission’s reports, fieldwork, and important efforts in support of the peace process based on human rights.

They also noted that these significant outcomes will enhance the prospects for peace, expressing their strong support for integrating human rights into the peace process and recognizing its importance in that regard.
