NCIAVHR Examines Marib Political Security Office and Criminal Investigation Department Prisoners’ Conditions

The team of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR), Monday, was briefed on the conditions of detainees in the Political Security Office (PSO) and the Criminal Investigation Department in the Marib governorate.

During the field visits, the team met with the head of the Political Security Office in the governorate, Brigadier General Naji Hatroum, and discussed a number of cases and the conditions of the PSO detention center in the governorate.

Moreover, the conditions of the detainees were reviewed, their demands were listened to, and the level of human, social, and health rights guaranteed to them in accordance with national and international laws was assessed.

In addition, the Commission met with the Director of Criminal Investigation in Marib, Brigadier General Hussein Al-Halisi, and discussed the conditions of detainees and prisoners. It also reviewed the detainees’ legal conditions and listened to their demands.

Since the beginning of this week, the Commission has been carrying out field visits in Marib governorate, including the local and security authorities, prisons, and detention centers, and listening to a number of victims of human rights violations.
