NCIAVHR Holds Extensive Meeting with Al-Dhalea Local Authority and Security and Police Agencies

On Wednesday, the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) held an extensive meeting with the local authority and security and law enforcement agencies in Al-Dhalea governorate at the beginning of its visit to the governorate to assess the human rights situation and review and investigate a number of recent incidents in the governorate.
In the meeting, Governor Ali Moqbel stressed the local authority’s full support for the work of the Commission and ensured facilitating the access of the Commission teams to the field and cooperation in implementing the law. Mr. Moqbel also highlighted the importance of the recommendations made by the Commission in order to improve the conditions of prisons and the rights of detainees.
The meeting, attended by the Deputy Director of Al-Dhalea Police, the Head of the Governorate Appeal Court, and the Head of the Appeal Prosecution Office, discussed a number of issues related to civil and social rights and facilitating the work of the judicial authority in the governorate and implementing its decisions to ensure the rule of law and the protection of public rights and freedoms.
