NCIAVHR Meets with the Deputy Ambassador of the European Union in Geneva

Today, the Chairman and members of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) met with Karina Tapio, the Deputy Ambassador of the European Union to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

Judge Ahmed Al-Maflahi, Chairman of the Commission, discussed the developments in human rights in Yemen and presented proposals to improve the human rights environment. He reiterated the need to push for the implementation of the Human Rights Council’s resolutions regarding Yemen, particularly under Item 10, which pertains to capacity-building support.

Ms. Tapio emphasized the importance of the Commission’s work and the necessity of continued support, affirming the European Union’s steadfast position in monitoring Yemen’s human rights situation and ensuring stability.

She also praised the achievements of the Commission during the past period and confirmed the EU’s ongoing support for all international resolutions related to the Commission’s work.
