Geneva: NCIAVHR Meets with Arab Group Ambassadors at the Human Rights Council

Today, the Chairman and members of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) met with ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions from the Arab Group at the Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Commission, Judge Ahmed Al-Maflahi, gave a brief update on the latest human rights developments in Yemen and highlighted key recommendations made to the international community and parties involved in the conflict, as outlined in the Commission’s twelfth report. He also called for the implementation of these recommendations.
Judge Al-Maflahi further discussed with the diplomatic representatives the challenges faced by civil society organizations in Yemen, especially in light of the recent wave of arrests targeting many members of these organizations.
In response, the representatives of the diplomatic missions affirmed their ongoing monitoring of the Commission’s work and their awareness of its latest report. They also emphasized their commitment to continuing their support for the Commission to ensure it can carry out its duties effectively.
