The National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR), on Tuesday, in Geneva, met with the Director of the UN Human Rights Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa (ROMENA), Dr. Mohammed Ensour, and the Director of Technical Cooperation and Field Operations in the Office of the High Commissioner, Christian Salazar.

The meeting, which came within the framework of the Commission’s visit to Geneva to participate in the work of the 54th session of the Human Rights Council, discussed the role of the Commission in the process of monitoring and investigating human rights violations in Yemen during the recent period.

The meeting also touched on increasing the technical support provided by the Human Rights Council to the Commission through the High Commissioner for Human Rights, increasing the number of activities implemented, and developing future support programs to keep pace with the significant expansion in the process of monitoring, documenting and investigating violations.

During its visit to Geneva, the delegation of the Commission will hold a number of important activities and meetings with the diplomatic missions of member states of the Human Rights Council on the sidelines of participation in the work of the current session of the Council, after successful meetings it held last week with government agencies and civil society in the Netherlands.
