NCIAVHR Discusses Human Rights Situation with Aden Governor

Today, the Chairman and members of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) discussed the human rights situation in the interim capital with Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, Minister of State and Governor of Aden.
Judge Ahmed Al-Maflahi, Chairman of the Commission, reviewed the results of the visits made by the Commission to detention centers in Aden and various governorates to check on the conditions of prisoners and detainees, the process of arrest, detention, and investigation according to the law, detainee lists, and the speed of referring cases to the Public Prosecution.
Judge Al-Maflahi, along with Commission members Judges Hussein Al-Mashdali, Nasser Al-Awdali, Ishraq Al-Maqtari, Diya Muhayriz, and Jihad Abdulrasool, briefed the Governor of Aden on the latest developments and the human rights situation, the main complaints before the Commission, and a set of proposals aimed at facilitating and enhancing the Commission’s work. They also discussed mechanisms for coordination and cooperation with local authorities to find effective solutions for many pending issues.
Governor Lamlas affirmed the local authority’s commitment in Aden to overcoming all obstacles and providing the necessary facilities for the Commission to carry out its tasks, taking necessary actions to achieve justice, ensure the protection of human rights, and address issues promptly. He praised the role and efforts of the National Commission of Inquiry in Aden and other governorates, emphasizing the importance of continuous communication and collective work to ensure tangible results on the ground.
