NCIAVHR Meets with Sida Representatives

Members of the National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights (NCIAVHR) met with representatives of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), today, in the interim capital of Aden, to discuss a set of challenges related to monitoring and accessing victims and the Commission’s priorities for the upcoming period.

During the meeting, the Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Judge Hussein Al-Mushadli, expressed his appreciation for the recent trust given to the Commission by the international community through the Human Rights Council, and their recognition of the Commission’s efforts in investigating all violations in Yemen.

Judge Al-Mushadli affirmed the Commission’s commitment to continue its investigation and reach out to victims in all Yemeni governorates, to ensure justice for the victims and compensate for their harm.

For their part, representatives of the Sida emphasized their commitment to follow up on the developments of the Commission for Investigation and support it through the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights to assist it in carrying out its tasks, ensuring the continued success of the Commission’s investigations.
